This research professional is responsible for working in laboratory facilities to conduct research associated with neuroscience and ophthalmology. The individual will design and perform experiments; oversee general lab maintenance and equipment; order laboratory supplies; maintain experimental records; and assist with training students and the preparation of publications and presentations.
The candidate must work well in a team environment, but should be comfortable working independently. Excellent organizational skills are required. This individual should be skilled in lab techniques such as preparing solutions, cell culture, tissue preparation, microscopy and molecular biology. A background in neuroscience, developmental and molecular biology, and ophthalmology research is desirable. The applicant must have experience in handling rodents or be willing to learn.
