PCOM Financial Need Scholarships

The PCOM Office of Financial Aid awards financial need scholarships to admitted and returning students.

There is limited funding available for financial need scholarships, so priority is given to returning PCOM students who complete their requirements on time.

Eligibility

  • Students must be enrolled as at least half-time status (usually at least 3.0 credits per term) to be awarded a PCOM financial need scholarship.
  • Students must timely and properly complete the FAFSA to be considered for PCOM financial need scholarships.
    • Students must record their parental income information on the FAFSA to be considered (see details in next section).
    • FAFSA must be completed by March 15 of each academic year.

Parental Income Information

  • The 2018-2019 FAFSA must be completed correctly to be considered for PCOM’s financial need scholarships:
    • Students must record their parental income information on the FAFSA to be considered.

Students must post their parental income information on the FAFSA if the student age 26 and younger as of December 31, 2017. If the student is 27 and older as of January 1, 2018, parent information is not required on the FAFSA to be considered for PCOM’s financial need scholarships.

Put another way, if you were born on January 1, 1991 or later, you must include your parental information on the FAFSA to be considered for PCOM financial need scholarships. If you were born on December 31, 1990 or earlier, you do not need to include your parental income information on the FAFSA for consideration of financial need scholarships.
    • View full details on completing the FAFSA and applying for financial aid at PCOM.
  • There are no separate applications for PCOM financial need scholarships.
  • If you are awarded a financial need scholarship, it will appear on your Financial Aid Checklist within myPCOM as part of your financial aid award summary.

Amounts

  • Awards range from $500 - $4,000 per year.
    • Award amounts vary depending on student's financial need, program, enrollment, funding available and other factors.
    • The PCOM Financial Aid Office begins the financial aid award process around April 1 each year.
  • PCOM financial need scholarship funding is limited, so priority is given to returning PCOM students who complete their requirements on time.
