PCOM graduated the latest group of osteopathic physicians in a ceremony filled with excitement and celebration on Saturday during the College's 126th DO Commencement. Two-hundred fifty seven newly-minted doctors now join the more than 100,000 DOs currently practicing in the US.
To celebrate the hard work, perseverance and achievements of this year's 265 graduates as they transition from students to alumni, Georgia Campus - Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (GA-PCOM) held its ninth annual commencement ceremonies on Friday, May 26.
A native of the West Oak Lane section of Philadelphia, Dr. Keith Leaphart has worked tirelessly for more than 15 years to support his community and the city at large through his work as a physician, entrepreneur and philanthropist. A drive to give back imbues all of his endeavors. Dr. Leaphart shared his experiences with the 2017 PCOM graduates as their commencement speaker.
A native of Gainesville, Georgia, Congressman Doug Collins saw public service modeled by his father, a Georgia State Patrol trooper, and mother, who provided care to local senior citizens. Rep. Collins was the guest speaker at the 2017 GA-PCOM Doctor of Pharmacy and Graduate Programs Commencement ceremony.
Marcus Engel, MS, CSP, CPXP is a Certified Speaking Professional and author whose messages provide insight and strategies for excellent patient care. He was the speaker for the GA-PCOM 2017 DO Commencement ceremony.
More than 230 students in PCOM's 10 graduate programs walked across the stage in Verizon Hall at the Kimmel Center on July 31, 2016.
On June 5, PCOM graduated 260 newly minted DOs at its 125th Commencement ceremony.
