
Commencement Announcements
Announcements are available for pick up in the Office of Admissions. Each student will receive 25 announcements with personalized name cards.
Commencement Tickets
The initial 6 Commencement tickets are available for pick up in the Office of Admissions. The office opens at 8 AM and closes at 4:30 PM, except on Thursday when it is open until 7:00 PM.
Tickets will not be mailed. They may be picked up by someone other than the graduate if the graduate is unable to collect them in person. If you do not plan to use all 6 tickets, please return the tickets you will not need to the Office of Admissions.
Anyone in need of a ticket for a guest in a wheelchair must contact Nancy McCullen at nancym@pcom.edu as soon as possible. Tickets for handicapped areas are limited and will not be available on the day of Commencement. You must email her immediately with this request.
Rehearsal, Class Photograph and Barbeque
Rehearsal will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at 2:00 PM at the Kimmel Center. It will last approximately 2 hours.
All details of the commencement ceremony will be covered, including times, marshalling order, roll call, etc. It is important that all graduates attend.
After rehearsal, graduates will return to campus for the class photograph, which will be taken in the Donor Garden wearing your caps and gowns. This will be followed by a barbeque.
Dinner Dance
Commencement Dinner Dance will be held the evening of Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Drexelbrook in Drexel Hill, PA. Parking is available on the premises.
Dress is black tie optional. Cocktails begin at 6:00 PM with an open bar. Dinner begins at 7:00 PM. Seating is by tables of 10. Dinner is followed by a program that includes award presentations and dancing.
A formal invitation for you and a guest will be sent from the Provost in early April. Please be sure to RSVP.
Commencement
Commencement is Sunday, June 5, 2011 at 11:00 AM at The Kimmel Center. Graduates must arrive by 10:00 AM. The ceremony will last approximately 2 hours. You can anticipate being out by no later than 1:00 PM.
Hooding
In keeping with our tradition, the Dean of the College hoods graduates. As an exception, we extend to graduates the privilege of having a close family member assist in the hooding ceremony during Commencement exercises.
The Hooding Information Form must be completed if you have a family member who meets the PCOM criteria as stated in the policy. Please refer to the Commencement Hooding Policy.
The Hooding Information Form should be returned to the Office of Admissions by the April 1, 2011 deadline.
Commissioning
The formal commissioning of graduates in the military will take place on stage as part of the Commencement ceremony. Please refer to the Commissioning Policy. A separate communication with specific details will be sent by e-mail to each Army, Navy and Air Force graduate.
Publicity
If you would like news of your graduation sent to your hometown newspaper and/or alumni magazine, please complete the publicity form.
