Continuing Education at PCOM

The Online Learning Center at PCOM provides continuing education for physicians, physician assistants, psychologists, counselors and other healthcare and social work professionals.

Our online continuing education center delivers online and in-person learning experiences. Earn certificates in programs such as CPR, ACLS, HazMat and NAB CEUs as well as AOA and NBCC credits. Learn more below.

AOA Category 1-A, 1-B and 2-A credits will be granted to osteopathic physicians and physician assistants. The category of credit depends on the educational format of the program. Each course will provide further information regarding the AOA category of credit.

Learn the latest evidence-based practices in emergency medicine as well as resuscitative techniques (CPR, ACLS, airway management and IV/IO placement) through hands-on, case-based learning, clinical seminars and skills training sessions.

Continuing education certification may include: CAPCE, state, local and course certifications. Other courses offered include BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATCN, ATLS, ITLS, EMR, HazMat and many others.

Continuing education offerings for physical therapists and physical therapy assistants will cover a broad range of patient and practice management issues. License renewal requirements differ from state-to-state. Check with the licensing board for your state to determine if a course meets their requirements.

PCOM’s School of Professional and Applied Psychology courses are approved by the American Psychological Association.

The PsyD and EdS school psychology programs in the School of Professional and Applied Psychology are NASP-approved and as such, may offer NASP-approved continuing education hours.

NBCC logoPhiladelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, School of Professional and Applied Psychology has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No.5672. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, School of Professional and Applied Psychology is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

PCOM’s School of Professional and Applied Psychology is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The Pennsylvania Board of Social Work Examiners recognizes and accepts the psychology continuing education hours/credits for social workers. The board requires a minimum duration of two hours per program. After successfully meeting the criteria for earning CEs, social workers will receive the Certificate of Attendance.

Nursing Home Administration Continuing Education and Licensure Preparation

PCOM's online Introduction to Nursing Home Administration (NHA) 120-Hour Certificate Course prepares professionals interested in pursuing licensure as a nursing home administrator in long-term care. It provides a comprehensive view and understanding of the complex clinical, business and regulatory requirements for effective nursing home administration.

This comprehensive course is offered exclusively online and on-demand. The program is approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators and meets the CE requirements for eligibility to take the NHA licensure examination in Pennsylvania.

PCOM offers a Pennsylvania Department of Health-approved 4-hour, medical marijuana education certification course (4.5 AOA Category 1-A Credit) open to healthcare providers involved in pain management.
