Department of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine
Philadelphia

Our department trains medical students, interns, residents and physicians in osteopathic principles and practice including the use of osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT), an approach in which osteopathic physicians use their hands to diagnose, treat and prevent illness.

The PCOM Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) faculty share many years of working together to teach both future and practicing osteopathic physicians.

Our physician staff consists of 10 attending physicians. Our OMM clinical teaching faculty also includes NMM/OMM resident physicians and student clinical scholars who assist in teaching all the courses of Osteopathic Principles and Practice.

The PCOM OMM faculty carry on the one of the longest-lived traditions of continuous OMM diagnosis, treatment, and curriculum development within the osteopathic profession, since the founding of our institution in 1899.

OMM is focused on treating illness within the context of the whole body.
