A renovated O.J. Snyder Memorial Library, located on the first and second floors of Evans Hall, opened in 1999 as part of the campus-wide Master Facilities Plan. The Library was modernized to handle the latest information systems and expanded to include a journal reading room filled with the most recent academic journals. The facility includes individual study carrels with laptop hook-ups and a computer lab that provides access to the ever-increasing volume of electronic information resources needed for a comprehensive medical education.
In addition, the Library houses the print collections, a Conference/Group Study Room, an AudioVisual Room, Database Center and study space. The Audiovisual Room on the first floor of the Library contains videocassette players, laser disk players, slide projectors, and audio tape players. The Database Center on the second floor houses more than 20 computers and a networked laser printer.
A student Computer Lab, located on the second floor of Evans Hall, is adjacent to the Library and provides access to the Library's electronic resources in addition to e-mail, the Internet and productivity applications. The Computer Lab houses more than 50 computers and networked laser printers.
The Digital Library
The electronic environment of the PCOM Digital Library includes bibliographic databases and indexes, full-text resources of specialized information on cancer, clinical practice guidelines, infectious diseases and other subjects, catalogs of local, regional and national biomedical collections, and the ever-expanding web of biomedical sites.

The Library provides access to the following licensed databases: MEDLINE, MD Consult, Aidsline, Best Evidence, Bioethicsline, Cancerlit, CINAHL, Cochrane Collection of Systematic Reviews, Health & Psychological Instruments, HealthStar and PsycLit through the Digital Library Databases page. The Digital Library also facilitates access to unrestricted Internet resources including CancerNet, CDC Wonder, Health Services Technology Assessment, Material Safety Data Sheets, Physician Data Query and Population Index. All of these databases are available both on campus and from remote locations.
The Digital Library Internet Subject Guides provide subject access to selected Internet sites and resources, including textbooks, clinical simulations, diagnostic support programs, metasites, etc.
In the Computer Lab, students have access to productivity applications (word processing, spreadsheets, database management, etc), question banks, practice exams, interactive atlases, electronic databases and the Internet.
