Mapping

When you do not know the proper MeSH term for your topic, Ovid's mapping feature will help you. You can type in your word or phrase and Ovid will automatically try to match it with an appropriate MeSH term. (The box labelled "Map Term to Subject Heading" must be checked for this function to work.)

Exercise:

  1. View the sample screen

  2. Type in the words "sickle cell disease" in the box labeled  "Enter Keyword or phrase"

  3. Click on the Perform Search button
