What is Interlibrary Loan? Interlibrary Loan services provide users access to books and journals not available in our library. We are part of the Health Sciences Libraries Consortium in our area and the National Library of Medicine in Maryland. Also, we belong to the Tri-state College Library Cooperative, a group of 36 academic and special libraries. .Return to top of page
Who may use Interlibrary Loan? Undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty, and staff at PCOM. .Return to top of page
How much will it cost? There are no charges to our users for interlibrary loan requests. We do ask that you be selective in your choices, as the library does pay for each request. .Return to top of page
How do I submit the request? Check the library's online catalog VOYAGER and the Alphabetical List of E-Journals to determine whether our library has the desired item.

On Campus
Submit the requests at the Circulation Desk or electronically.
Supply all requested information. Do not use abbreviations. When using Medline, supply the Medline Unique ID# (ex: 98081234)
If you do not have complete bibliographic information for the item, consult a staff member for help.
When you have completed the form, return it to the circulation desk.
Incomplete or illegible written forms may be returned to you.

How long will it take to receive the request? Every effort will be made to deliver materials in a timely fashion. 80% of our request are filled within the first week; however, we do not control the response time of the lending libraries. Please plan ahead. For books, please allow at least 2 weeks; it may take longer if the item is difficult to find.

How will I be notified? For Articles: Check at the Circulation Desk to see if the articles have come in. For Books:You will be called when the book arrives. Please return the books to the Circulation desk by the due date. .Return to top of page
