The PCOM Libraries are primarily for the use of PCOM students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Due to reciprocal inter-library agreements, library access is granted to faculty and students of select institutions upon presentation of a current institutional photo ID.

Library study space is reserved for the exclusive use of the PCOM Community. Requests for use of study space will not be honored. Non-PCOM researchers who have legitimate need to access the print collections may do so weekdays until 5 pm with the exception of reading and exam periods. In order to provide adequate access and support for research and study, use of computers and technology is restricted at all times to PCOM users.

Because of space limitations, security concerns, and staffing levels, library access is restricted to PCOM students, faculty, staff, and alumni weekday evenings after 5 pm, weekends, holidays, exam and reading periods.

Off-campus users of Library electronic resources are required to login using their PCOM Network ID and password. For further information, consult Off-campus Access.

Users who experience difficulties with expired or forgotten passwords should contact the MIS Department at Operator@pcom.edu. Users who experience difficulties finding and using resources should contact Library@pcom.edu or GALibrary@pcom.edu.

The PCOM Library participates in the National Network of Libraries of Medicine. Access to NNML member collections is through inter-library loan. See Borrowing from Other Libraries for policies. Request Forms for books and journal articles support electronic submission of interlibrary loan requests.

Philadelphia Campus
TCLC, Tri-State College Library Cooperative, is a group of academic libraries located in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. PCOM faculty and students are permitted access to many TCLC libraries upon presentation of a a PCOM ID and a letter of introduction authorized by a PCOM librarian. Selected TCLC libraries permit direct borrowing. Check access privileges with a member of the library staff before travelling to a TCLC member library.

The Library is also a member of PALCI, the PA Academic Library Consortium. Philadelphia campus users may access EZ-Borrow, a web gateway that supports simultaneous searching of member library catalogs, and directly request items. The required PALCI Patron ID is the LIB# on the PCOM ID.
