Reference and Education Librarian 

Ms. Speed earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas and was granted a Master of Science degree in Information Science from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas in 2000. Before joining GA-PCOM, Melissa was previously a Public Services Librarian at Tarrant County College in Fort Worth, Texas for six years and the librarian liaison to the college's nursing program, where she focused on teaching database research skills.

Ms. Speed's hobbies include American colonial history and genealogy.  She is a past registrar of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Fort Worth Chapter, and is a member of the Jamestowne Society and the Society of the Descendants of Washington's Army at Valley Forge.  She is single and enjoys being an aunt to her four nieces.
