Financial Aid Resources

Financing a medical or graduate education is one of many important factors that students must consider prior to entering their academic program.  The Resources Section of our Web site is designed to provide you with as much information as possible on federal, institutional and private financial aid programs.  In addition, students are encouraged to utilize convenient Web sites to conduct searches and gain information on additional sources of scholarships, grants and educational loans.

 

Approximately two-thirds of all student financial aid comes from the federal programs that you will read about here.  Aid covers educationally related expenses, including tuition and fees, room and board, books and supplies and transportation. Most federal aid is need-based.  The most common types of aid are grants, loans, and work-study. More

PCOM grants and scholarships for medical students are made possible through contributions made to the PCOM Foundation by sponsors who take pride in helping students obtain a medical degree by assisting them in meeting their financial obligations. Grants and scholarships are gift aid and do not have to be repaid. More

 

Each year the staff of the Financial Aid Office updates our handbook, A Guide to Financing Your Education, which includes a comprehensive list of sources of private educational funding. The 2011-12 handbook is available in the Financial Aid Office and online.  Students are also encouraged to visit one of several free scholarship databases available online. More.
