Application Process
Use the below timeline as a guide for completing financial aid requirements:
February 1
The PCOM Scholarship Application is made available on your Nucleus Financial Aid Checklist. This is due March 30 to be considered for PCOM's Financial Need Scholarships.

For new students accepted close to or after March 30, your checklist will show you a custom due date.

Complete your US Federal taxes as soon as possible! Encourage your parents to do the same.
Mid February
Complete the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov by using your Federal Student Aid PIN. This is due March 30. For new students accepted close to or after March 30, your checklist will show you a custom due date.
  • If you do not have a Federal Student Aid PIN, apply for one here.
  • Our office strongly encourages you to use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool (DRT) on the FAFSA to import your and (if applicable) your parents’ tax information. This tool will minimize documents our office might request. It takes approximately 2 weeks after filing your taxes for the DRT to be an option on the FAFSA.
  • If you or your parents are not able to file your taxes by the beginning of March, use estimated values to complete and submit the 2013-2014 FAFSA. After you or your parents have filed 2012 taxes, log back into the FAFSA website to edit your 2013-2014 FAFSA to enter your or your parents' income information.
  • PCOM's school code is 015979. Both PCOM and GA-PCOM students use this code.
  • After submitting your FAFSA online, allow an additional 2 weeks for your FAFSA to be received by PCOM.
Parent Income Information is REQUIRED on the FAFSA to be Considered for PCOM's Financial Need Scholarship Funding!

If you wish to be considered for PCOM's financial need scholarships, you are REQUIRED to post your parent information on the FAFSA if you are age 26 and younger as of December 31, 2012. If you are 27 and older as of January 1, 2013, parent information is NOT required on the FAFSA to be considered for PCOM's financial need scholarships. Parent information is not required on the FAFSA for consideration of federal student loans.
March 7
All Financial Aid Checklist items will display within Nucleus.

Review your Nucleus Financial Aid Checklist to complete outstanding requirements and necessary forms. Instructions for completing these forms and requirements will be available on your Nucleus Financial Aid Checklist under the "Needed Documents" checklist item.
Scholarship Deadline - March 30
DUE: FAFSA for consideration for PCOM's financial need scholarships and federal loans.
DUE: PCOM Scholarship Application on your Nucleus Financial Aid Checklist for endowed/external scholarships.

For new students accepted close to or after March 30, your checklist will show you a custom due date.
Mid April

Most PCOM students first borrow from the federal Direct Stafford loan program. If the full amount of Stafford loan is not enough to cover your tuition and living expenses for the school year, we encourage you to make a budget, compare the federal Graduate PLUS loan vs private student loan options, and apply for a PLUS or private loan at this time.
