Presently Dr. Stewart is extensively involved in teaching in the DO program. She is the Course Director for Clinical Endocrinology. Her areas of teaching include pharmacology of: adrenergics, coagulation, pulmonary, gastro-intestinal, obstetrics and gynecology, rheumatology, endocrinology and neuroscience. Additionally she provides instruction in neuroanatomy.

Dr. Stewart is no longer active in research. Her previous research focused on endogenous opioid peptide-induced damage resulting from injury to the spinal cord. Additionally, Dr. Stewart has activity participated in clinical research in patients with Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

Dr. Stewart began her professional life as an Occupational Therapist. She has incorporated her knowledge and experiences as an OT in teaching and research.
