Dr. Ruth Borghaei is a Professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences. She is
Director of the Molecular Basis of Medicine course in the Masters in Biomedical Sciences
program and also teaches molecular biology and genetics to those students and to first-year
DO students. Dr. Borghaei's research interest is in the homeostatic regulation of
gene expression, particularly in response to inflammation.
Dr. Borghaei completed postdoctoral studies at the Institute for Cancer Research of
the Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia. She is a member of the PCOM chapter of
Sigma Xi, the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and the American
Society of Genetics.
