
Dr. Fogel has served as Professor and Chair of the Department of Pathology, Microbiology, Immunology, and Forensic Medicine at PCOM since 1997. He served as Chair and Professor of Clinical Pathology at the School of Osteopathic Medicine, University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey from 1984-1997. He has taught at Kansas City College, Oklahoma College of Osteopathic Medicine, Oklahoma State University (1975-1984), and the University of Tulsa, and has held the positions of Laboratory Director and Chief Pathologist at Oklahoma Medical Center, Tulsa, Oklahoma and Kennedy Memorial Hospital, Stratford, New Jersey. He has published in
Current Concepts in Oncology ("Surgical Pathology in the Diagnosis of Cancer," 1979) and the
Journal of the American Osteopathic Association ("The Atypical Lymphocyte," 1966).
Dr. Fogel's other professional appointments include terms as Deputy Medical Examiner & Consultant Forensic Pathologist for the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner's Office (1969-1975), Faculty for the Homicide by Explosion division of the U.S. Treasury Department's ATF Division (1971-1972), and investigator for the Legislative Commission on Agent Orange (1981-1983). Dr. Fogel received his D.O. from PCOM in 1958. He completed his residency in Anatomic & Clinical Pathology at Detroit Osteopathic Hospital in 1965.
Dr. Fogel was awarded Excellence in Teaching Citations in 1984, 1987, 1989, 1991 and 1996. He was named Professor of the Year at PCOM from 1996 through 2005.
