Dr. Ingram has worked with special needs children for 33 years as a teacher and a school psychologist. Prior to becoming a school psychologist he was a special education teacher for 5 years. As a school psychologist, Dr. Ingram has concentrated in neuropsychological assessment and intervention in the schools, assessment and intervention with preschool developmentally disabled children, and the diagnosis, assessment, and treatment of children with autism spectrum disorders. He has been involved in the development of functional behavior observation checklists, for both school age and preschool children, which are used to assess and diagnose autism spectrum disorders. Dr. Ingram has given numerous presentations and seminars at the local, state, and national level.
Dr. Ingram received a master's degree in special education, dual master's in clinical and school psychology, educational specialist certification in school psychology, and national certification as a school psychologist. He completed his doctoral studies at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. His focused interest is in the assessment and treatment of social competence in children with high functioning autism and Aspergers syndrome. The Associations of School Psychologists of Pennsylvania named him Pennsylvania School Psychologist of the year in 2001.
Dr. Ingram recently completed a book chapter that links the use of applied behavior analysis and cognitive behavior therapy with high functioning children with autism and Aspergers syndrome. He is co-author of the Functional Behavior Checklist for Autism.
