About Us/Description
The Center for Brief Therapy at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) is a comprehensive outpatient clinic serving the greater Philadelphia area.  We provide a wide range of clinical assessment, treatment, and consultation services for children, adolescents, and adults.

The Center specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy, a short-term treatment model with an impressive history of research support.  This model has been shown to result in significant improvements in the quality of life of individuals with a wide range of emotional and behavioral problems as well as difficulties related to medical problems.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Center is twofold: treatment and training.  As one of PCOM’s patient services, we seek to provide high quality, affordable mental and behavioral health services to the community.  We view the provision of these services as complimentary to the osteopathic vision of treating the whole person.  We endeavor to reach a diversity of individuals including those who might not otherwise have access to these services.  Furthermore, as a training site, the Center offers the opportunity for graduate psychology students to hone their skills and develop into compassionate, sensitive, and culturally aware professionals.

Staff
Our center is staffed with advanced graduate students in clinical psychology, psychology interns and post-doctoral fellows.  PCOM Psychology Department faculty members, who are licensed psychologists, individually supervise each therapist.

Initial Evaluation (90 minutes): $60.00
Individual Therapy Session (50 minute sessions following the initial evaluation): $25.00
Comprehensive Psychological Assessment: $800.00

**We do not offer comprehensive psychological assessments for any PCOM students due to a conflict of interest. Psychological services are not offered for any PCOM psychology students for the same reason. However, reciprocal agreements have been made with another university counseling service.
