D.O. Scholarship Fund

From Sunday, March 2 through Sunday, March 9, PCOM thirty-three students called alumni across the country during our annual weeklong phonathon raising support for the D.O. Student Scholarship Fund. As usual, the response from alumni was phenomenal and $166,500 was raised in gifts and pledges. This fund is a vital source of financial assistance, greatly lessening the debt burden for our students. Last year, the DO Student Scholarship Fund awarded $175,000 in financial aid to DO students.

During the phonathon, students have the opportunity to connect with their future colleagues, ask questions and seek advice from our alumni who are always more than happy to share their knowledge and experience.

The faithful generosity of PCOM alumni to our annual phonathon demonstrates your commitment to the next generation of physicians and your alma mater. Thank You!

Amanda Bowman (DO '08)

Amanda, one of our top phonathon callers has been speaking with alumni since her first year at PCOM. Excited to graduate in a few short months, she anticipates when she will receive a call from a student and have the opportunity to give back.

Brian Minarcik (DO '08)
Brian, who is another fourth year student, and has been calling alumni for the past four years, shares his future career plans with a physician who will celebrate his 25th reunion.

Nikhila Iruku (DO '11)                Peter Saccone (DO '09)

Nicki and Peter diligently punch the next alumni's numbers hoping to reach another donor for the DO Student Scholarship Fund. Both, new to the program, enjoyed speaking with their future colleagues and learning important advice about their upcoming medical careers.

Sarah Berten, (DO '11)
Sarah can't help but smile as she commiserates with a recent graduate on the intense workload of the first year of medical school.
    Seth Kaufer (DO '08)
Contemplating graduation and his internship in a few short months, Seth Kaufer reaches for the phone to complete the last call of the evening. He achieved the highest number of pledges for the fund in one night.
