Class Agent Program
Class agents assist the Office of Alumni Relations and Development with alumni relations
and development activities for their particular class, making use of each individual's
talents, time and loyalty to Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Our alumni look to PCOM for various reasons: to socialize, to learn, to network, to
advise, to be informed about the College and to continue their medical education. A
class agent will help the College make sure these objectives are met for the members
of their class. Class agents will be seen as an important liaison between the College
and alumni, keeping alumni and the college up-to-date on one another. Class agents
will encourage alumni to inform us of their recent accomplishments via "Class Notes"
in Digest. In addition, the College will keep class agents apprised of key College
activities and policies to relay to alumni.
A successful development program is greatly enhanced by personal contact by a peer
or colleague. Class agents will also assist in this process by lending their signature
to Annual Fund solicitation letters and other development communications. Class agents
are expected to make their commitment to a leadership gift.
The energy and determination of a core group of class leaders and volunteers is essential
to a successful campaign. Class agents and other members of the core group will have
a key role in determining the goal and developing and carrying out a campaign plan.
