Silvia M. Ferretti, DO, Erie, PA, was honored on October 12, 2012 by Governor Tom Corbett and First Lady Susan Corbett as one of this year’s “Distinguished Daughters of Pennsylvania.” Dr. Ferretti was recognized as a driving force behind the growth of osteopathic medical education.

Robert A. Koenigsberg, DO, Broomall, PA, an interventional neuroradiologist at Hahnemann University Hospital and St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children received the “Tenet Heroes Hall of Fame 2012 Award.” Dr. Koenigsberg was recognized for his dedication, courage and extraordinary skills. In one example, Dr. Koenigsberg operated on a 3-year old girl with a gunshot wound late one night over the Fourth of July weekend and saved her life.
