Job Title: Post-Doctoral Fellow

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Department of Bio-Medical Sciences,
seeks a full time Post-Doctoral Fellow to explore, at 70% time, the molecular mechanisms
underlying axon regeneration. The study utilizes both in vitro and in vivo approaches,
including molecular/cellular neurobiology, protein biochemistry, immunohistochemistry,
high resolution digital imaging, and primary cell culture. In addition, the post-doctoral
fellow will provide 20% assistance with bone chondrocyte and cellular molecular biology
projects with opportunity to contribute to publishable works. Another 10% will be
associated with mentoring student lab personnel and lab coordination.
Applicants must have a PhD with a strong background in neuroscience and cell biology.
Expertise in primary neuron culture, molecular cloning and biochemistry preferred.
The successful candidate will be expected to conduct routine experiments independently,
in addition to training and supervising students and managing the lab. Training in
teaching human anatomy and histology will be offered. This position is eligible for
renewal on a yearly basis, for a maximum of up to three (3) years.
