ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) School of Pharmacy – Georgia Campus is seeking candidates for Asst/Assoc Dean for Academics & Assessment.  The PCOM School of Pharmacy currently holds Candidate accreditation status from ACPE and will be submitting an application for Full Accreditation in 2014 after the graduation of its charter class. The School is seeking qualified candidates to join the leadership team and oversee academic affairs in the school as well as programmatic assessment. The Asst/Assoc Dean will report directly to the Dean and will serve on the Executive Committee for the School of Pharmacy.

     

    The Asst/Assoc Dean is expected to have strong knowledge about the current practice of pharmacy and accreditation requirements for ACPE.  Responsibilities of the position include oversight for the development of a new curriculum and serve as an ex officio member of the Curriculum Committee, Chair the Assessment Committee, manage the departmental budget, oversee all assessment activities in the school, teach in the PharmD program as appropriate and contribute to the scholarship and service needs of the school. The candidate will be expected to contribute to the strategic plans for the school and be actively involved in achieving successful full accreditation for the school.

     

    Qualified individuals will possess an earned doctoral degree in pharmacy or other health sciences discipline or a PhD degree in a pharmacy-related discipline.  The candidate must have sufficient accomplishments in teaching, research and service to meet the tenure requirements of the College and appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor.  Previous administrative experience is required and the successful candidate must possess excellent managerial and interpersonal skills.

     

    Salary and appointment level will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Review of applications will begin February 15, 2013 and continue until the position is filled.
