Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine has created a new School of Pharmacy in the greater Atlanta, Georgia area and is seeking qualified individuals for full-time, tenure-track faculty positions in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The School of Pharmacy is currently applying for precandidate status with ACPE and seeks to enroll its inaugural class in Fall 2010.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This individual will be expected to assist in the development of the PharmD program, teach in a variety of basic and pharmaceutical sciences courses, develop and maintain an extramurally funded research program and participate in a collaborative, interdisciplinary research environment with other faculty in the School. In addition, this individual will be expected to contribute to the service needs of the School, serve on various committees and participate in the accreditation process.
REQUIREMENTS:
The successful applicant will possess a Ph.D. degree or professional doctorate in one of the following disciplines: 1) Medicinal Chemistry, 2) Pharmacology,
3) Immunology, 4) Pharmaceutics, 5) Anatomy and 6) Physiology/Pathophysiology. Desirable qualifications include postdoctoral experience in the discipline, successful record of scholarship and attainment of research grants, curricular experience in a school of pharmacy and previous teaching experience.
