Job Title: Academic Coordinator

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Georgia Campus Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine – Physician Assistant Studies is seeking a qualified individual for a full-time, Academic Coordinator of Physician Assistant Clinical Studies. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Teach, evaluate, and advise didactic students. Coordinate the clinical learning and assessment center activities of students in concert with the clinical learning assessment faculty. As directed by the program chair and/or academic director, academic coordinator will instruct students, assist with administrative duties, counsel and assist students in the program. In concert with assistant chair oversee the development and implementation of the didactic curriculum at PCOM. In concert with assistant chair and core didactic faculty provide term-by-term on-going analysis of outcome assessment for core didactic courses to chair and/or his/her designee. Assist with preparation of grants, reports, and self-studies related to ongoing funding and program accreditation. Assist program chair and/or his/her designee with budget planning, curriculum development, by tracking ongoing progress. Assist program chair and/or his/her designee with accreditation documentation and problem-solving activities related to the didactic curriculum. Provide supervision, guidance and direction to students during clinical medicine laboratories and small group sessions. Develop and maintain didactic course schedule regarding day-to-day didactic course activities. Provide liaison with appropriate PCOM departments involved in medical and health science education and with external agencies useful to the teaching program. Develop and implement ideas, procedures, and functions of the PA program in concert with other PA program faculty. Maintain state licensure and national certification as a Physician Assistant. Performs other duties as assigned by chairman and or his/her designee.

REQUIREMENTS: 

TMust maintain state licensure and national certification as a Physician Assistant or board certified as a DO or MD.  Prefer at least 4 years of clinical experience and experience teaching in an academic setting.
