ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

A postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine- School of Pharmacy, Suwanee, GA (just outside of the greater Atlanta area).  This post-doctoral fellow will be working on an American Heart Association funded project on the basic mechanisms during the development of immune-complex mediated autoimmune diseases such as vasculitis. Candidates with a strong background with biochemistry/immunology are encouraged to apply for this position. Highly motivated candidates with a recent and productive PhD in relevant fields are sought for this position. The interested applicant will be studying the independent role of Fcgamma receptors and complement components during IC-mediated autoimmune diseases.  Experience in the research techniques such as immunological analyses using autoimmune animal models, ELISA, Western blot, flow cytometry, and histopathological analyses is desired. The candidate is expected to possess strong scientific credentials and work ethics.

 

REQUIREMENTS: 

 

A Ph.D. degree in life sciences or a related field with a proven history of peer reviewed publications.  Knowledge about autoimmune diseases in animal models.  Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
