Job Title: Director/Department Chair Physical Therapy Studies

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Georgia Campus - Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM), in the greater
Atlanta area, is seeking qualified individuals for a full-time Director/Chair Physical
Therapy Studies. The Director/Chair will report to the Vice President for Graduate
Programs and Planning and will work closely with administration, department chairs
and faculty at the PCOM-Georgia (branch campus) and the Philadelphia (main) campus.
The Founding Director/Chair will appoint and work with a Clinical Director to secure
sites for experiential placements within the health care community in Georgia and
the southeast region. He/she will also establish formal relationships with undergraduate
institutions for pre-PT education. The Founding Director/Chair will foster research
among the faculty and pursue external funding opportunities. The Director/Chair will
provide effective financial management; and will serve as a visionary educational
leader for the new Department of Physical Therapy in a manner that is consistent with
the mission of the College and its strategic objectives.
Candidates must possess a terminal physical therapy degree (D.P.T). A record of exceptional
teaching, scholarship, and service is expected. The person chosen will have exceptional
interpersonal and administrative skills, a commitment to learning outcomes, and vision
indicative of the ability to shape and energetically lead a new department and doctoral
program in physical therapy.
